13. Did you travel a lot to get the interviews?

Aside from the tri-state area I traveled all across Europe for about 3 months last year doing interviews but I can honestly say that I wish I could have done more. Not only because I love to travel but because it’s a topic that applies to punks in all parts of the world. I unfortunately didn’t get to interview anyone from Asia, Australia, Africa, South America, the Middle East, or Central America – all of which have had flourishing punk scenes for years. But who knows what lies in the future! Maybe there will be something like “All Grown Up Again” haha.

14. How old exactly is Charlie Harper? Is he the oldest Punk on Earth?

Haha! I had to laugh when I read this question – I don’t know why but it just made me laugh. I’m not going to tell you just yet how old he is – watch the movie and find out! I will say I’m not sure if he is the oldest punk on Earth or not because I don’t know all the punks on Earth – but he’s definitely up there!

15. How did bands/people respond to the idea of ALL GROWN UP when you were in production?

I didn’t actually start promoting the film until after all of the production was finished and I was well into post so not many people had heard of it during the actual production. Within the first month of promotion the MySpace went from 150 friends to over 8,000 friends so with time more and more people started hearing about it and contacting me about it. I got so many emails from people wanting to be in the movie that would have been great for it for example John Robb (singer of Goldblade and author of “Punk Rock: An Oral History”), Captain Sensible, One Way System, and other punks from all over the world. Unfortunately since production was already finished I didn’t have the funds or the time to go and do more interviews, so a ton of people who would’ve had great contributions were excluded. Other than the people requesting to be in the movie, I’ve gotten (and still get) so many emails from people all over the world showing their interest and support! It’s better said by the people who are supporting it rather than me, so here’s an example of just one of the emails I’ve gotten over the past year…

Awesome! It's so hard for me to explain to people that punk isn't just a type of music, it's a lifestyle, and a state of mind. Some of the "punkest" people I know aren’t sporting 2 ft mohawks and destroying private property, they're dressed in normal clothing and they have normal jobs... but they'd die for their friends and what they believe in.To me, punk is honesty. Punk is putting your heart out there for everyone to see and being strong enough to put up with the bullshit that other people say about it. Saying what you want to say and being who you what to be... some poeople turn their noses up at that and lump us together as trouble makers, but from those of us that are in it and live it, we know better.

Thanks for making this documentary... it's been a long time coming!Beth
